Add franchisee locations to your Square for Franchises account
About locations
After you set up your Square for Franchises account, you can add new franchise locations in your Square for Franchises dashboard. You can also add and authorize locations of your existing franchises or import locations from your organization.
Before you begin
Only franchisors can invite franchisees to participate. Once you invite franchisees, you can add and authorize the locations from your Square for Franchises dashboard.
All locations must be authorized.
Invite a franchisee
Sign in to your Square for Franchises dashboard, and select Locations.
Select Add organization > Invite Franchisee.
Add the email addresses of the franchisees you would like to invite.
Select Save & send invitation.
The franchisee will receive an email with instructions on how to join the franchise and activate their subscription. They can follow the next steps to complete the invitation.
Open the email from Franchises Admin with the subject line “Join the [business name] Franchise on Square”.
Select Join Now in the email and sign in to the Square for Franchises page.
Select Accept Invite > Go to Square Dashboard > Activate subscriptions.
Input your payment method and select Start subscription.
Import locations
You have two options for adding locations: you can create a new location or import existing locations. Adding a location creates a new virtual store you can use for online ordering, whereas importing a location links an existing location’s Square account.
If you have existing locations, you can import them from Square to your Square for Franchises account.
Sign in to your Square for Franchises dashboard, then go to General Settings, and select Locations.
Select Add Organization > Connect organization.
Select the locations you want to import.
Select Connect. The locations will import and synchronize with Square for Franchises.
Authorize a location
Authorizing a location is for when you would like to integrate your existing Square account or a Square POS for payment processing with Square for Franchises.
Sign in to your Square for Franchises dashboard, then select Choose Location on the top of your screen.
Select the location you want to authorize from the drop-down menu.
Go to the Payment tab and select the Add Provider, then select Square.
Select Authorize with Square.
Sign in with your Square credentials and to grant the permissions to connect.
Select the location you want to connect to in the Square authorization form, then select Connect.
Once connected, toggle Integration to Live.
Toggle on the preferred Payment Methods and select Save Settings.
