Customize table management settings
About table management settings
Table management features help you streamline your servers’ interactions with guests who are seated for service.
You can also merge multiple tables together directly from the POS app when large parties want to sit together or guests move during service. Merged tables display as linked and occupied on your floor plan.
Before you begin
The two main settings you can customize for table management are:
Floor plan indicators: Display how much time has passed since a check has been opened, and enable color indicators to show on the Square Restaurants POS app after a set amount of time.
Track seating: Track the individual seating at each table to help determine which customer ordered which dish each course. Available with a Square Restaurants Plus and Restaurants Premium subscription or a Square Premium subscription. Learn how to Manage seats in your restaurant.
To customize your table management settings, you need to create a mode for a Square for Restaurants device. Learn how to create and assign modes and Set up your restaurants point of sale.
