About Facebook Messenger and Square Online
You can connect Facebook Messenger through your business’s Facebook account to your Square Online site to offer customers a quick way to contact while streamlining your messages.
Once your Facebook Messenger icon is live on your website, it appears on every page in the location you chose during setup. Customers who click on the icon go to a new window with a blank message to send to your page.
Before you begin
You can connect Facebook Messenger to Square Online through your Square Dashboard.
Your business needs to have a Facebook business page to add a Messenger button to your Square Online site.
Set up Facebook Messenger
To set up Facebook Messenger:
Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Sales channels > Online > Communications > Messenger.
Select Set up now.
Connect your Facebook page and grant permissions.
Review the permission request, then select Done. You should see your connected Facebook page once you finish connecting to and authorizing Facebook. Select Next.
Choose a style for the Messenger icon and decide where you want to locate it on your site.
Use the Publish button to finalize Messenger setup.
Disable Facebook Messenger
You can disable Facebook Messenger and remove it from your site from your Square Dashboard.
Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Sales channels > Online > Communications > Messenger.
Select Disable. You can also change which Facebook page is connected or completely disconnect your Facebook account.
