    With Release Manager, you get access to features from Square for Restaurants before their official release. Release Manager lets you opt in to new features early on a per-device basis, so you can enable features on your devices at your convenience. You can also enable features on a single device to train your staff before enabling features on all relevant devices.

    You can always revert back to the previous experience before the end of the introductory period. At the end of the introductory period, new features will be automatically rolled out across all your devices.

    Before you begin

    • You can enable and disable Release Manager features from your Square Dashboard.

    • To see your new features in your point of sale, reset your point of sale device or app.

    • If there is no option to enable / disable new features, there are no feature updates available to access. Check back later for upcoming updates.

    Enable new features

    1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Settings > Release manager

    2. Select Enable for device.

    3. Select the device or devices on which you’d like to enable the feature. Only relevant devices that can support the new feature or functionality will be available to select. The device name should match the device name listed in the device hub.

    4. Select Enable.

    Disable features

    Disabling a feature is only available during the opt-in period. After the opt-in period ends, all relevant devices will have the feature enabled.

    1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Settings > Release manager

    2. Select Manage.

    3. Select Revert back selected devices.

    4. Select the device or devices on which you’d like to disable the feature.

    5. Select Revert.
